Natalie Vatcher is a coloratura soprano and crossover artist, who feels equally at home in opera, early music, and musical theatre. She graduated from the Eastman School of Music with her BM in Vocal Performance and completed her MM in Vocal Studies at Longy School of Music of Bard College, where she was the Patricia Ostrander Scholar.
Natalie made her professional debut in 2023 with Boston Opera Collaborative premiering two roles in their annual evening of short-operas, Opera Bites. Over the summer she made her role debut as The Queen of the Night in Hawaii Performing Arts Festival's production of Die Zauberflöte. Other recent engagements include Papagena (covering Queen of the Night) MassOpera’s The Magic Flute: Retold. Natalie is currently a substitute for the esteemed Boston Baroque Chorus performing Beethoven's 9th Symphony this October under the baton of Martin Pearlman.
During her time at Eastman, she performed the roles of Flora in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, Damigella in Monteverdi’s L’incorinazione di Poppea, and Clara Johnson in Adam Guettel’s The Light in the Piazza with Eastman Opera Theatre. While pursuing her masters, she performed the roles of Morgana in Handel’s Alcina, and the title role in Viardot’s Cendrillon under the baton of Ryan Turner (Emmanuel Music, Artistic Director).
As a performer, Natalie strives to bring dimension and honesty to every character she portrays.
